Biography:
Jennifer Rush was born Heidi Stern on the 29th of September, 1960, in New York City, New York,
USA.

Rush studied piano, violin and singing before starting her pop career. She went to Europe in 1969, when her father, the opera singer Maurice Stern, took an engagement at the Flensburg Opera in northern Germany. She subsequently settled in Wiesbaden, Germany, but moved back to America in the early 70s. A return to Germany came at the beginning of the 80s, working as a secretary for the US Army in Harlaching, Bavaria.

Her career in popular music was hallmarked by the spectacular 1986 success of 'Power Of Love', an emphatic MOR ballad which became a major worldwide hit. It reached number 1 in the UK charts in June 1985, re-entering the Top 60 nearly 18 months later in December 1986.

Further success arrived via duets with Elton John and Michael Bolton, before teaming up with Placido Domingo, in many ways a salute to her operatic roots, for the 1989 hit, 'Till I Loved You'. She also enjoyed solo success with '25 Lovers', 'Ring Of Ice' and 'I Come Undone'.

By the 90s she had become a fixture on AOR radio in the USA, with each of her albums selling strongly. She has over 50 gold records to date, and numerous platinum albums (four of went 'double platinum').
