Patsy Moore

Biography:
The daughter of a Navy man, Patsy Moore was born in Antigua in 1964. Her family moved around frequently when she was a child. Reflecting the wide variety of cultures she has experienced, Moore's music uses African and Caribbean
rhythms, folk, soul, Latin, rock, pop and funk. The valedictorian of her high school, she enrolled at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Moore performed in a band throughout college, singing, writing songs and playing keyboards.

After graduating with a degree in broadcast journalism, she realized music was her calling and began honing her talents. After David Mullen (an acquaintance) asked her to sing backup on a demo, she started writing and singing with others.

Moore was hired as a staff writer at the McSpadden Group and a record deal with the Warner Alliance soon followed. That label released her debut, Regarding the Human Condition, in 1992 and The Flower Child's Guide to Love and Fashion two years later.
